Round Pot 围炉花胶鸡火锅 in Richmond offers a focused hot pot experience centered around a rich chicken broth simmered for nearly three days, blended with frozen pumpkin puree. This deliberate choice sets a warm, comforting tone that suits gatherings during cooler months or whenever you need a hearty meal with friends and family.

The restaurant occupies a clean, modern space that feels inviting for groups, whether you're dropping by for a casual dinner or a small celebration. The atmosphere balances a relaxed vibe with attentive service, though some recent visits hint at slight fluctuations in staff attentiveness. Booking ahead is wise, especially on weekends or early evenings, to avoid waits.

Round Pot’s menu, while still expanding, already highlights quality ingredients like Angus beef slices and fish maw that pair seamlessly with the signature broth. The offerings lean toward traditional hot pot staples such as lamb slices, bamboo fungus, and salted duck egg yolk, making it a satisfying spot for those who appreciate nuanced flavors in a communal dining setting. Portions and pricing typically fall in the mid-range, around $40 to $50 per person, inclusive of fresh vegetables and complimentary touches like house salad and even a small dessert to finish.

One unique draw is the range of house drinks, notably the osmanthus coconut concoctions, which visitors praise for their refreshing sweetness. These beverages complement the savory broth and add a local flair to the meal experience. Expect a casual, no-fuss dining rhythm where the food and broth take center stage.

This place suits local food enthusiasts looking for comfort food that feels authentic yet accessible, as well as small groups wanting to share a warming, interactive meal. Evening visits tend to be lively without feeling rushed, making Round Pot a dependable choice to return to every couple of weeks.

The newly opened RoundPot Chicken Hot Pot is truly an exceptional experience. First and foremost, the quality of their products is impeccable. They specialize in one broth, which is said to be a chicken broth simmered for 6-8 hours and combined with frozen pumpkin puree. When you sip it, it's incredibly comforting and warms you up instantly. It's simply synonymous with deliciousness. Every bite is filled with fresh and unique flavors, making it an absolute feast for the taste buds. The service is also impressively top-notch. The staff is exceptionally friendly and eager to answer questions. They patiently introduce the menu and offer advice on sauce combinations. They always ensure that our dining experience goes smoothly. Their professionalism and warm service make you feel right at home. After the meal, they even offer complimentary ice cream, and it's fresh milk ice cream, which is incredibly delicious. As for the prices, I find them very reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the dishes. You truly get great value for your money. In summary, the Flower Essence Chicken Hot Pot restaurant not only provides high-quality food but also delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're dining with family, friends, or colleagues, it's a must-visit place.

This is one of my favorite place to get hot pot in Richmond as a local foodie. I sometimes come here twice in a week bc its so affordable (around 40$-50$ pp with seafood!) and the coconut drinks are so good! My to go dishes are - angus sliced beef (not fatty but very soft), the osamanthus coconut drink (you have to get it, they can open a boba shop just with this drink), wings (they are just like hong kong tam jai but better) and the boneless duck feet (exotic but I cannot find this anywhere). Definitely drink the chicken soup because I think it is MSG free, I never get thirsty after unlike other hot pot places. Cantonese soup lover approved.

Very new place. New and clean. It has great atmosphere for family and friends gathering. I enjoy their specialty which is the chicken and fish maw hotpot. Been going here every 2 weeks, recently they add more broth type and skewers but I still had the chicken hot pot anyway. The service used to be very good and impressive but the last 2 times I came here (this week and last week) was a hit and miss. The lady who took care of our table is cold, eventho she has mask on I could tell she sounded annoyed whenever we asked for something. I wish that could be improved tho.

Great place to try out their chicken soup with fish maw. The service and food was great. Reasonable price, came to about $40-50 per person. Even comes with complimentary ice cream to end the meal. Wish they had more variety on the menu but it’s very new and understandable. Hoping to come back to a bigger menu next time! Something to note is to make sure to call and make reservation. There’s free parking in the back of the plaza. They’re quick kid friendly as they have high chair and kids utensils.

The staff provided excellent service, and the ingredients were very fresh, including vegetables, beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. The broth was also delicious. We made a reservation but didn’t have to wait since we went quite late. If we have the chance to be in that area again, we would definitely consider coming back.

Might have a different opinion here. Tried the coconut chicken soup base, I have to say it did not meet my expectations as my friends have been saying how great this place is, maybe it is, but not to my preference. Soup doesn’t use fresh coconut water, probably some average bottled coconut water. There is another coconut water chicken hotpot place in the same neighborhood but unfortunately is permanently closed, that place was pretty good. Chicken wings are good. Skewers are way too salty. Salad is okay. The freshness of hotpot food seems average, price is reasonable. Interior is clean and modern, has comfortable seating. Service is pretty good, everyone is friendly and helpful. Ice cream is pretty good. Overall, it is not bad, maybe should try the other chicken soup next time.
